Not long ago, for example, Szas reviewed a book on transsexuals and transsexual operations. As a radical libertarian, he should have supported the right of anyone to surgically alter his or her body in any way. Instead, he used the occasion to excoriate psychiatrists for supporting the wishes of transsexuals to change their anatomies. As devoted as his libertarianism is, it was no match for his passion against psychiatry: He had the opportunity to defend the limitless rights of the person, but gave it up to flay the meddling habits of the psychiatrist
