In this paper, I analyze the poems written in English by young, contemporary Kashmiri poets in an online platform called “The Kashmir Tales.” Through textual analysis of these intensely personal poems, I argue, that these poems show the effects of trauma in a highly mystical language. In order to demonstrate this relationship of the poems with trauma, I interpret two prominent and recurrent motifs in the poems – prisons and the interplay of love and death
