Recherche prospective sur l'évolution des modèles et de la politique de consommation en Pologne

A Prospective Study of the Evolution of Policy and Consumption Models in Poland. «Poland in the year 2000» is the title of a series of studies undertaken by the Academy of Sciences to determine the general trends and principles of future consumption. These studies have practical importance since the conclusions will be submitted to the Central Planning Commission for consideration. According to Professor Krzyzewski, the first problem is how to avoid the errors of «consumption society» in Poland. The model is designed to encourage wide consumption both in the material and immaterial sense, and is therefore, also a model of the quality of life. Consumption is interpreted in the broad sense as a factor of the multilateral development of man and society. The development of collective goods and services (education, leisure, health) aims to equalize the individual opportunities to procure consumer goods and to satisfy growing collective needs. Consumption policies, which must take the individual preferences of the population into account, should permit rational consumption according to biological, economic and social standards
