While the relevance of using projective tests in the analysis of traumatic expression in a population of women has already been highlighted in the literature (Martins et al., 2010), the study of the different modes of functioning and elaboration presented by these victims according to the chronicity of the violence experienced remains to be clarified. This article aims to show the different modes of expression and evolution of post-traumatic symptomatology in the TAT projective test by presenting two clinical situations: those of Miranda (48 years old), a victim of Chronic Domestic Violence, and that of Maya (22 years old), a victim of a Single Domestic Violence (SDC) episode before separation from the violent partner. The analysis of the productions in the projective tests shows a resonance between the post-traumatic symptomatology presented by the subjects in the PCL-S self-questionnaire and the discourse processes most used to treat anxious emergences and latent requests from the TAT boards. These two clinical situations demonstrate that the traumatic evolution varies greatly depending on the chronicity of domestic violence. As such, the use of the projective TAT test, for these two clinical situations, appeared highly relevant in the investigation of the intrapsychic processes underlying the post-traumatic symptomatology observed in the PCL-S. In clinical practice, the combination of these two tools could be truly relevant in terms of screening and adapting the therapeutic framework to the difficulties underlying the symptoms presented by patients, as well as to the resources available to them
