This paper analyses the theatrical play Atardecer en Mitilene (Dawn at Mytilene) by Andrs Pocia, a recreation of the Ancient Greek lyric poet, Sappho. This paper follows the critical considerations from Classical Tradition Studies as well as Reception Studies, and focuses on the originality of a play which is a recreation of the vital atmosphere of the so called 'house of the Muses', enriched by a dramaturgy full of symbolic and poetic devises
