It has become known that this article contains substantial overlap with the thesis “Luis Emilio Racabarren: Educator of the Chilean Working Class” by María Alicia Vetter (2013), which became the basis for Vetter’s 2020 monograph, The Educational Philosophy of Luis Emilio Recabarren: Pioneering Working-Class Education in Latin America (ISBN 9780367861193), and the book chapter “A Pedagogy for power: Antonio Gramsci and Luis Emilio Recabarren on the educational role of working-class organizations” in Antonio Gramsci: A pedagogy to change the world by María Alicia Vetter and John D.
