This article endeavors to map the interactions of popular Pakistani dramas (2018–2023) with the interplay of gender performativities, exhibiting what nuanced meanings the terms “femininity” and “masculinity” hold. For this purpose, the article makes use of content analysis and cultural discourse analysis, attempting to uncover the intricate terrains of convergence and divergence from the traditional codes of morality that the depictions have from a feminist standpoint. Allied vectors of female “agency,” their character trajectories, the resolution of their stories, the notion of izzat, and their moral indictment have been studied as part of the article to study how popular portrayals traverse the bridge between traditional and the modern in South Asian societies
