THE COLLECTION OF STUFFED ANIMALS at the Petach Tikva zoo is impressively large. It includes bears, deer, penguins, rabbits, fish, all kinds of birds, hundreds of butterflies and a skeleton. The former deputy mayor, who was in charge of the park, used his contacts abroad to order the bigger animals from a Swiss family of taxidermists. By the beginning of the 1960's there were dozens of them. The smaller animals and the birds were made at Tel Aviv University, which was at that time still situated in Tel-Kabir
