The present paper describes how the school may be integrated in the everyday life of the community based on systematizing the curriculum implicit in the culture. In this sense, we describe various lines of research dealing with knowledge and education from the particular culture. These studies underline the notion of social activity as a central element that generates both knowledge and specific learning processes, and helps bridge the gap between local and formal or scientific knowledge. These proposals are based on an educational project with indigenous people of the Peruvian Amazon consisting in implementing a primary school curriculum based on activities
