Se analizan las características que presenta el correo electrónico y las peculiaridades de las interacciones que se producen a través de este canal frente a otros tipos de comunicación electrónica, así como sus potencialidades como medio didáctico en la enseñanza/aprendizaje de lenguas. Se revisan algunas experiencias didácticas basadas en el uso de este medio y se propone una tipología de aplicaciones didácticas que se ejemplifica con algunas de las experiencias pedagógicas realizadas en el ámbito de la didáctica de las lenguas
