In this article, the author examines the innovative ways in which two filmmakers, Ángeles Cruz and Luna Marán, transform community filmmaking by implementing the philosophical and practical principles of comunalidad. By way of discursive and visual analysis, the article demonstrates how Cruz and Marán unveil how patriarchal views and actions in domestic and public spaces weaken the communal tissue that sustains Indigenous territories.
