Eldercare research continues to proliferate, however, not all caregiving activities are captured in this research because of limitations of the survey instrument. The time‐budget methodology accounts for all activities over the twenty‐four hour day for several days in terms of the frequency of the activities, their duration, and the social context in which they occur. In this paper several advantages of time‐budget methodology in eldercare research are provided
