This exploratory study of 62 Master's of Social Work students looked for discrepancies between sexual orientation self-labeling and their sexual behaviors/desires. Respondents completed the Klein Sexual Orientation Grid. Results showed some inconsistencies in correspondence rates between the two. Most respondents displayed a consistent sexual orientation category in three of the aspects studied (attraction, behavior, and present self-identification) but inconsistencies werefound between past and ideal indications of orientation and between emotional and social preferences and fantasies. Further research with a larger, more diverse sample is recommended. Incorporation of diverse conceptualizations of the meaning of bisexuality into mental health practice is recommended.
