Economic sociology seeks to apply sociological perspectives to economic analysis. The standard formulations of micro-economics require reducing all analysis to numerical measures and indices. Against this narrowness, sociological approaches introduce issues critical for defining and marketing leisure and the related concept of lifestyles. This paper attempts to introduce how basic sociological concepts that employ common vocabularies may both contribute to economic analysis and lead to significant critiques
