This concluding article to the special journal issue on Rabindranath Tagore provides an overview of the multiple events that have been happening since 2009 leading up to the celebration of Tagore's 150th birth anniversary (May 2011–May 2012) across the world and assesses his global impact. The various dimensions of Tagore as poet and prophet, mystic and philosopher, activist and pragmatist, educationist and environmentalist are reconsidered against this resurgence. This paper offers a fresh cognizance of Tagore's rhythmic aesthetics permeating his entire body of work and affirms the performative appeal of Tagore's work which crosses linguistic barriers and continues to have a universal resonance, confirming Tagore's global relevance in the coming decades
