This paper offers a discussion of a new social movement in Ontario, which organises politically around the intersection of poverty and health. It examines the day-to-day practices of the campaign and its coalition of poor people and health professionals and the implications of this grassroots movement for healthcare. It also discusses the significance of this type of ‘direct action casework’ more broadly for anti-poverty and healthcare movements in the post-welfare state context
