The article reports on the study of the reputation of the Russian Federation among US students. The research, employing a survey methodology, proposes a new instrument, Global Reputation Measurement, based on two previously used instruments: Reputation Quotient and Fombrun–RI (Reputation Institute) Country Reputation Index. The study concludes that US students have on average a neutral attitude toward Russia. The research findings suggest that the Russian Federation does not have to worry about the reputational scars left in the memories of the Americans from the Cold War period. At least, among the younger generation the reputation of Russia and attitudes toward Russia are not negative. Russia is not viewed as an enemy or villain, but rather as one of the countries out there. The bigger problem that Russia faces is lack of knowledge about Russia – its history, nature, economy, and policies
