The technology revolution and the discovery of shale oil and shale gas deposits changed the world's geopolitics and geostrategies. Today, the U nited S tates no longer depends on oil imports. It is becoming an energy producer and exporter, which changes its role in the world. The effect is also felt in L atin A merica. Because countries such as V enezuela, B olivia, B razil, and A rgentina will be the main energy producers in the future, they will all change their relationship with the U nited S tates. They must seek new markets so as not to be affected by the new energy power balance. This article analyzes the situation in L atin A merica as it faces the U . S . scenario and its new worldwide energy potential
