In this article, I assess French-Canadian and Métis star Ariel Rebel's performance in the docu-porn Threesome (2015). There, Rebel details her biography, then a ménage à trois experience. This leads her to masturbate. The film blurs documentary and fiction: her fictional sex act disrupts the anecdote. Rather than address this rupture, users' comments praise Rebel's storytelling and she responds in turn. Trending fetishes as indicators of a public's porn use thus fail to reflect users' engagement with performers as microcelebrities (para-social interaction) and undermines performers' efforts to solicit fans' attention through performative authenticity
