Roden is professor of English at the University of Connecticut. He is author of Same-Sex Desire in Victorian Religious Culture and Recovering Jewishness: Modern Identities Reclaimed. Editor of Palgrave Advances in Oscar Wilde Studies and Jewish/Christian/Queer: Crossroads and Identities, he co-edited Catholic Figures, Queer Narratives and an edition/translation of Marc-Andre Raffalovich’s 1896 sexological work Uranism and Unisexualite. He is also author of a commentary to Julian of Norwich, Love’s Trinity.
