Previous studies (1, 2, 4 ) have demonstrated that the number of words Ss include under such verbal concepts as theoretical, economic, aesthetic, social, political, and religious, is related to their personal values, other personality variables, and certain judgmental phenomena. The present 2 experiments are concerned with the consistency with which Ss judge or categorize words as belonging to these 6 particular concepts. That is, if a group of Ss are presented with a list of words and asked to check those words they feel can be included under one or more of these 6 conceptual categories, will a second group of Ss yield essentially identical judgments on the same list of words
