A survey of 35 doctoral-level psychologists who had recently appeared on television resulted in the conclusion that, while anxiety-provoking, appearing on television in a professional capacity can be both personally and professionally rewarding. If a psychologist is knowledgeable about the issues to be discussed and familiar with the format of the program, the likelihood of the experience being a good one is maximized
