The Jesness Inventory and 10 concept measures were administered to 60 male delinquents immediately before and after participation in an Outward Bound program. Significant changes were found on 6 Jesness Inventory Scales indicating more favorable social attitudes and evaluation of feelings. Significant improvements were also observed for the 3 concept measures “I am,” “I would like to be” and “Boys who don't get into trouble.” These results suggest that Outward Bound is a desirable short-term means of promoting positive change in the social attitude and self-concept of male delinquents
