As a test of the hypothesis that consistent short sleepers tend to be non-worriers while consistent long sleepers tend to worry, the anxiety levels of 17 short and 17 long sleepers were compared. Contrary to this hypothesis, we found that short sleepers showed significantly higher levels of anxiety than long sleepers
