A LIFE OF ODORIC OF PORDENONE BY A. C. MOULE. Nothing can be more vague than the chronology of Odoric's life and travels, with the single exception of the date of his death. The date of his birth has been guessed as 1285 or 1286, Yule adding (in Cathay II, p. 8) "judging, however, from the effigies of Odoric on his tomb at Udine, I should have guessed the date of his birth to stand a dozen years earlier than that mentioned", - that is, in 1274. On this point no new evidence seems to have come to light, although
