In this chapter, we recall the principles of geographical data quality assessment and exploitation, as well as the different kinds of error qualification criteria. We propose a model for storing and exploiting the quality information of a geographical data set. This model is characterized by the addition of quality metadata to the geographical database schema. The exploitation of quality information uses statistical methods and aggregation functions to assess the quality of digital geographic information at various levels. These functions are used in the processing of queries, so as to include quality assessment in the process of querying geographic information systems. The model has been validated in practical terms, based on ARC/INFO. Quality maps are associated to digital maps, and displayed at the same time to support better decision making
