Solving the mystery of Lobi ruins. A beginning is made at solving the mystery of « Lobi ruins », these vast drystone walls discovered in 1902, about which several hypotheses have been made. Research under way on the history of the Kaaba (improperly called Gan) of Burkina Faso has motivated them to shed a little light on this mystery : they have declared that their ancestors erected these walls as a protection against wild animals. In past centuries, the Kaaba kingdom had to deal with power relations, but the Kaaba were able to keep their sense of identity even in the most secret matters. They were probably the first known population to have exploited and traded in « Lobi gold »
