Les éleveurs WoDaaBe du Niger sont confrontés à une crise' qui menace directement leur existence. Cette situation est le résultat de changements importants qui se sont accélérés ces derniers vingt ans en raison de graves sécheresses, de la croissance de la population, et de la baisse de la productivité agricole et pastorale. Cet article met l'accent sur un autre facteur, beaucoup moins connu : l'évolution des structures de propriété et de gestion des troupeaux. Il s'agit d'un problème nouveau très important, qui affecte profondément la vie économique et sociale des groupes WoDaaBe, leur environnement, et même la productivité globale du secteur de l'élevage du Niger
