Research Article| December 01 2020 Indonesian Cultural Diplomacy and the First International Gamelan Festival and Symposium at Expo 86 Jonathan Goldman; Jonathan Goldman Jonathan Goldman is professor of musicology at the Université de Montréal. His research focusses on the postwar avant-garde. His book The Musical Language of Pierre Boulez (Cambridge University Press, 2011) won an Opus Prize. He also co-edited and authored the preface to a translation of Boulez's writings (University of Chicago Press, 2019), in addition to editing several multiauthored volumes on Québec composers, creative process, and musical semiology. Goldman was editor of the journal Circuit from 2006 to 2016. His research appears in Twentieth-Century Music, University of Toronto Quarterly, Circuit, Intersections, and elsewhere. Dr. Strachan's dissertation on the Estonian-born composer Udo Kasemets was supported by an AMS-50 Fellowship.
