Geographical Changes in French Mortality. It seems that gains in life expectancy have had no result on the geographical repartition of general mortality indicators during the last thirty years, the maintenance of regional demographic oppositions reproducing in a way that of socio-cultural structures. Inertia is not entire, but changes can only effect during several generations. They are especially discernible at the young ages but we don't know if they are likely to continue later
