Sergueï Karp, Sergueï Iskul, Georges Dulac, Nadejda Plavinskaya; Grimm's Unpublished Letters to Catherine II. Fifty-one dossiers containing Grimm's letters to Catherine II, at present in the Leningrad Historical Institute Archives, were not included in Grot's 19th-century edition of Grimm's correspondence with the Empress. A new edition of Grimm's correspondence is at present in preparation, using these manuscripts. To give an idea of their importance, one of these letters, begun on 20/31 October and finished on 18/29 December 1784, is published here. In this long letter, in addition to fulsome praise of and thanks to the Empress, Grimm provides information concerning Diderot's widow's pension, his daughter, the copies being made of the philosopher's manuscripts, and Naigeon's plans for an edition of his works
