The IPEM-archive conservation and digitalization project aims at digitalizing the IPEM tape archive which consists of music produced, mainly, between 1963 and 1987. This period covers the area of the international institutional avant-garde in Flanders, Belgium. The archive contains a collection of electro-acoustic music on tapes, as well as related documents such as photographs, written texts, videos, etc....Associated with the digitalization of the sound archive is a dissemination project which aims at opening the archive for all interested users. The dissemination deals with the development of a simple, efficient and user-friendly database as backbone for a music-on-demand system and future mass-storage technology.
