Poetry, as an art form, has always served as a vehicle for expressing one’s emotions, experiences, and perspectives. It has the remarkable ability to challenge societal norms and ignite collective consciousness, making it a perfect medium for discussing feminism and its relevance today. Ambika Ananth’s new poetry collection Cascades encapsulates the struggles, victories, and aspirations of women and how they suffered or are suffering. This article studies how she lends a voice to the silenced and empowers the oppressed, shedding light on the complexities of gender inequality and the quest for gender equity resulting in harassment at various levels, and challenging the norms through her unflinching and sensible poems in Cascades
