This article revisits how capital-driven industrial policies foster environmental injustices through the concepts of primitive accumulation, accumulation by dispossession, and accumulation by contamination. We argue that waste management is a critical field where capital accumulates wealth while shifting costs onto vulnerable communities. The concept of accumulation by contamination (AbC) is used to explain how capital socialises the costs of contamination, degrading the means of existence and bodies of human beings who oppose these processes of capital valorisation and engage in environmental conflicts. Case studies from Naples (Italy) and Delhi (India) illustrate these dynamics, suggesting that combining AbC and accumulation by dispossession (AbD) provides a comprehensive framework for understanding contemporary environmental conflicts and environmental justice movements
