The work reports on the results obtained from the use of open government strategies in the management of urban solid waste in the Hurlingham District, Buenos Aires, Argentina. It covers the period from the creation of its first Recycling Directorate, in 2021, to its current Waste and Circular Economy Directorate. For its development, such policy uses tools of active citizen involvement and also has contracted the differentiated collection service to a local organization of urban reclaimers. The scope of the waste separation policy at source is also compared in two neighborhoods with different dissemination strategies. Although in both cases the strategies used are complementary, differences in scope have been evident in those cases where door-to-door dissemination was encouraged. The work allows us to show the growth that a public policy can present when it aims to involve the entire community
