La transducción al cine de la novela Tristana

Los textos galdosianos han sido nutriente indiscutible para la práctica creadora de Buñuel. Uno de ellos, la novela Tristana (1892), ha servido al cineasta para alimentar una historia que él transformaría por su cuenta sucesivamente en guión, escrito junto a Julio Alejandro, y, finalmente, en filme. El presente trabajo se ocupa del estudio comparativo de estos tres textos, novela, guión y filme, con el fin de fijar, a partir de la doble transformación llevada a cabo desde la letra hasta la imagen, algunas de las claves sobre las que se construye la forma cinematográfica buñueliana.Galdós’s texts have been an undeniable nurturing source in Buñuel’s creative process. One of those texts, the novel Tristana (1892), was successively transformed by the filmmaker first in the script format, together with writer Julio Alejandro, and finally in the homonymous film. The present work focuses in the comparative study of these three texts —novel, script, and film— with the aim of discussing some of the key concepts of Buñuel’s cinematographic essence, starting from the double transformation achieved from the words to the images
