The present article aims to study the presence of Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio’s work in a selection of lyrical texts published by four Spanish contemporary authors. The analysis of seven poems by Luis Antonio de Villena, Luis Javier Moreno, Jesús Ponce Cárdenas and Marina Aoiz Monreal aims to underline the specific characteristics of interartistic dialogue and ekhprastical writing in recent poetry, as well as valuing the literary, interpretative and audio-visual influences that converge in the contemporary appreciation of Caravaggio’s pictorial work
