In the early nineteenth century, London became the refuge of many American patriots. Undoubtedly, Francisco de Miranda was the most illustrious of them all. This paper explores how the Venezuelan precursor sought by various means to influence British public opinion, in order to gain support for the cause of independence in Latin America.
