Michael Hill, a leading advocate at the Criminal Bar, died in August 2003 when he was nearing the end of his presidency of the International Society for the Reform of the Criminal Law. His important works and contributions like an international dialogue amongst lawyers to bridge the continents, reforming the criminal law and its ways, training in legal advocacy, added to the image of the criminal law as the centrepiece of every society's legal system
