This study employs Natural Language Processing and Critical Discourse Analysis to examine the representation of refugees, emigrants, and immigrants in Spanish media from 2010 to 2020. Analyzing 140,000 articles, we use computational techniques such as bias, toxicity, hate speech, sentiment, frame and metaphor analyses, with topic modeling to reveal how media shapes public perceptions and societal attitudes. Findings show emigrants are framed in cultural and economic terms, immigrants in sociopolitical and securitization terms, and refugees in humanitarian terms or as a threat. Integrating Framing and Agenda-setting theories highlights media’s impact on societal views and policy debates, advocating equitable practices and discussions.
