What happens in Portraits d’espaces by David Coste ? We know Roland Barthes’s interest for the visual arts, but we rarely have been interested in the influence of his thought in the artists’ creative process, so neglecting to bring to light the theoretical and aesthetic posterity of his work in contemporary art. The series of photographs Portraits d’espaces (2012-2015) signed by David Coste reflects elective proximity between the artist and the writer. The notions of «signsobjects » , «ça a été » , «punctum » , or «Neutral » , as the question of the author, the tools of a semiotics of the image, here are revisited and updated in the current field of artistic creation
