The spatial organization of the « Thermes des Lutteurs » at Saint-Romain-en-Gal (Rhône - France) is given and its evolution during the first centuries AD is described from the archaeological data obtained from excavations. These thermae, built during the Lst century AD were enlarged and modified at the end of the Llnd century AD and then forsaken during the Ulrd century AD. Many bricks from both the pilae of the heated rooms and several praefurnium hearths are sampled for archaeomagnetic study. Generally, the magnetization of these bricks is polyp hased and then the vectorial sum of different partial magnetizations grown up first when baked and secondly when used in thermal building. Progressive demagnetizing processes were performed to separate these different magnetization components and consequently to date the different chronological steps of the history of these thermae. The archaeomagnetic study confirms and states precisely the chronological sequence of the « Thermes des Lutteurs » but brings some shade to the repairs step from the end of the Hnd century AD to the beginning of the lllrd century AD
