The increase of archaeozoological and archaeobotanic researchs concerning the pharaonic past shows a clear difference between the information provided by the archaeological assemblages and the iconography. The iconography expresses the ideological values of the elite about diet and systems of production, which could be very different from those used by the peasantry in a domestic context
