Work in a Digitalized World – Challenges and Research Perspectives for Labour Law This article is about the changes and challenges that network-based work arrangements pose for German labour law. The hypothesis put forward is that a fundamental need for research follows from the changing interrelation of work and organizational structures. Access to workers of varying legal status takes place increasingly within the structure of interorganizational networks. Current legal terms and structures refer to the concept of the traditional standard employment relationship, which is a permanent bilateral and hierarchically controlled legal relationship. However, work relations within interorganizational networks are characterized by triangular arrangements and indirect context and self-management, which creates new challenges in the areas on the fringes between standard employment and self-employment. The article proposes an interdisciplinary approach to address the challenges
