Land cover and use are important elements of the urban landscape. Understanding its dynamics and spatialization makes it possible to highlight the limits and capabilities of the environment for human health. This research aims to assess the environmental quality of urban areas and its correlation with respiratory diseases in children and adolescents. The research focuses on the Água Verde neighborhood, situated in the central region of Curitiba, Paraná. Through mapping and classification of land cover and urban environmental quality, we sought to understand the spatial distribution of asthma cases. Our findings reveal a notable concentration of patients in areas characterized by poor environmental quality, typically marked by high-rise buildings and limited vegetation. Although these areas experience elevated temperatures and thermal variations, our analysis suggests a correlation between asthma cases and lower temperatures during winter and autumn, as well as pollution levels. Therefore, we propose the implementation of measures such as urban green infrastructure, increased usage of permeable paving, and the adoption of nature-based solutions to mitigate these health risks
