Objective: to verify the geographic distribution and temporal trends of viral hepatitis B (HBV) and C (HCV) in Santa Catarina from 2011 to 2020. Methods: ecological study with secondary data collection in national registries. Age-standardized incidence rates were calculated using the direct method and stratified by sex and mesoregion. Joinpoint analysis was used to estimate temporal trends with Annual Percentage Change (APC). Results: There were decreasing trends between 2011 and 2019, HBV in men (APC: -4.1%), HBV in women (APC: -7.2%) and HCV in men (APC: -2.9%). Oscillations were observed in the mesoregions, with significant reductions in HBV in females, but with an increase in HCV in males in the Serrana and Vale do Itajaí regions. Conclusion: The incidence of hepatitis varies across Santa Catarina, reinforcing the need to expand prevention and control strategies for viral hepatitis considering regional particularities
