Objective: to investigate nutritional status, food consumption and lipid profile, as well as the possible association between them, in adolescents. Method: cross-sectional study with 115 individuals, of both sexes, from the public school system in a city in the south of Minas Gerais, with anthropometric, biochemical and food consumption assessments. Result: mean age was 14±2 years, 65% were female. Excess weight was identified in 30% of adolescents and waist-to-height ratio (WHR) classified as a risk for cardiometabolic complications, in 19%. Low HDL-cholesterol was observed in 13% of the studied population, followed by an increased non-HDL fraction (11%). Regarding food consumption, more than 30% of adolescents reported not consuming fruits, vegetables or legumes daily; more than 65% reported consuming ultra-processed foods daily and 65% of adolescents had a maximum of three meals a day and more than 25% did not have breakfast. An association was observed between WHR and serum triglyceride concentrations (p=0.040), and the consumption of hamburgers/sausages with excess weight (p=0.010) and low HDL (p=0.012). Conclusion: changes in the lipid profile associated with excess weight and increased WHR were identified, in addition to the association with the consumption of ultra-processed foods in the population evaluated
