Mamma Teresa’s diary is an intimate tale, but at the same time an important historical testimony to be shared. It is the story of a mother and the distances – physical and otherwise – she is willing to travel for love of her son who died as an interned man in Germany during World War Two. The diary remained in the drawer for years, forgotten by family members, although in the area where the woman resided everyone still remembers, more or less directly, who ‘Mamma’ or ‘Nonna’ Teresa was. It is the first time that this diary is brought here to the public. The theme that is addressed is that of the condition and fate of the Italian Military internees (IMI) after the announcement of the armistice on 8 September 1943
