A Política De Assistência Social No Contexto Da Pandemia Da Covid-19 No Maranhão

Este artigo apresenta análise sobre a Política de Assistência Social (PAS), tomando como referência empírica, o Estado do Maranhão, concebendo-a como uma das políticas públicas responsáveis por garantir a proteção social, com destaque ao contexto específico da pandemia de COVID-19. Nesse tempo históricode crise sócio-sanitária a PAS afirma-se como política pública essencial, requisitada a oferecer respostas para minorar os efeitos datragédia social da pandemia, em um momento de gradativo desmonte dessa política. Traz dados sobre a questão social, no Brasil e no Maranhão, como forma de subsidiar a reflexão sobre o enfrentamento à situação de vulnerabilidade social, agravada, no país, no contexto da pandemia. Resulta de uma revisão bibliográfica e documental, relativa ao assunto, com a realização de entrevista para levantamento de informações acerca da especificidade da PAS nesse cenário.THE SOCIAL ASSISTANCE POLICY IN THE CONTEXT OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC IN MARANHÃO: between dismantling and essentialityAbstractThis article presents an analysis of the Social Assistance Policy (PAS), taking the State of Maranhão as an empirical reference, conceiving it as one of the public policies responsible for guaranteeing social protection, highlighting the specific context of the COVID pandemic. -19. In this historic time of socio-sanitary crisis, PAS asserts itself as an essential public policy, required to offer answers to alleviate the effects of the social tragedy of the pandemic, in a moment of gradual dismantling of this policy. It brings data on the social issue, in Brazil and Maranhão, as a way to subsidize the reflection on facing the situation of social vulnerability, aggravated, in the country, in the context of the pandemic.
