recherche/archeologie/desert-oriental-ptolemaique/ Une anne sans terrain, mais pas sans avances 1 Fonde en 1994, la mission archologique franaise du dsert oriental (MAFDO) a depuis explor et document 19 sites (fig. Son implantation en 2020 dans le district de Ghozza lui permet d'tudier les sites voisins de Ghozza et de Deir el-Atrash, spars d'environ 7 800 m vol d'oiseau et situs sur deux routes menant aux carrires du Porphyrites et/ou du Mons Claudianus, dans un secteur riche en quartz aurifre. Ghozza, la mission tudie le fort datant du Haut-Empire de Berkou/ (fin du I er -dbut du II e s. apr. J.-C.), un village de mineurs d'poque hellnistique 1 , des mines ouvertes durant la mme priode (III e -II e s. av. J.-C.) et un puits protg 2 contemporain ou antrieur la priode hellnistique. Deir el-Atrash 3 , les recherches portent sur un fort dont deux priodes d'occupation (fin du I er -dbut du II e s. apr. J.-C. ; IV e -V e apr. J.-C.) ont pu tre identifies
